A REVIEW ARTICLE ON ANALYTICAL METHOD DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF LOSARTAN AND HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE IN COMBINED TABLET FORMULATIONS BY UV METHOD

ABSTRACT

Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic drug prescribed for managing high blood pressure and oedema caused by fluid retention. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide drug that blocks the reabsorption of sodium and chloride ions from the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, leading to natriuresis. This at first increases urine production and reduces blood volume. Losartan is a drug prescribed for managing high blood tension (hypertension). It belongs to the class of medications known as angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) and is deemed safeguarding for the kidneys.
